1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They help services remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the platform.
We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage to provide core functionality.
2. Cookies We Use
We use three categories of cookies:
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are required for Linguenta to function. They enable login, session management, and security. You cannot opt out of these.
Examples:
— Authentication token storage (access_token): Keeps you logged in during your session
— Session security tokens: Prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF)
Analytics Cookies (optional, consent required)
These help us understand how users interact with the Platform so we can improve features and fix issues. Data is anonymised and aggregated.
Examples:
— Optional analytics providers, if enabled, will be listed in this policy before use.
Marketing Cookies (optional, consent required)
These are used to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and to show you relevant content.
Examples:
— Optional advertising or marketing providers, if enabled, will be listed in this policy before use.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some third-party services embedded in Linguenta may also set cookies:
Stripe (payment processing): Sets cookies necessary for secure checkout and fraud prevention.
Sentry (error monitoring): May set cookies for session identification related to error tracking.
These third-party providers operate under their own cookie and privacy policies.
4. Your Cookie Choices
When you first use Linguenta, a cookie consent banner allows you to:
— Accept all cookies (including analytics and marketing)
— Reject optional cookies (only strictly necessary cookies will be used)
— Manage preferences individually
You can change your cookie preferences at any time in the Privacy tab of your Profile. You can also clear cookies from your browser settings at any time, though this may affect your login state and preferences.
5. Cookie Duration
Strictly Necessary Cookies: Expire when you log out or when the session ends (session cookies), or up to 7 days (authentication tokens).
Analytics Cookies: Up to 12 months, where analytics cookies are enabled.
Marketing Cookies: Up to 24 months, where marketing cookies are enabled.

We place strictly necessary cookies on the basis of legitimate interests and contract performance — they are required to provide the service.
We place optional (analytics and marketing) cookies only with your explicit consent, as required by the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR.
